Kelteve Distinction Technologies has done it again! Congratulations to the Kelteve team for being the 1st runner up in the prestigious Impact Hub Founders Pitch Competition. Kelteve represented by its Founder and Managing director, Steve Tadzoka participated in the 9th session of this pitch competition.

About the competition

Founders Live Harare is an unforgettable happy hour competition sweeping the globe. Five companies are handpicked to take the hot seat, with only 99 seconds to pitch their company. They describe their value proposition in front of an eager audience. After the pitches and audience Q&A, the viewers will vote on a winner who will not only receive an award but recognition from the audience as well as the opportunity to talk more about their product or service.

Participants

Kelteve was lined up with a top 4 of some of the best Start-ups in Zimbabwe which included Twalumba , Farm Hut and Golden Hearts.

Judging Criteria

In compliance with the social distancing for COVID-19 control measures, founders were pitching their businesses in a live stream with an audience. After a 99 seconds pitch, a follow-up question and answer followed with questions from both the judges and the audience. The results were compiled from the judges as well as the voting done through online means by viewers.

Finally the results!

After deliberations, the following were the results:

  1. Farm Hut with their online farmers’ platform to sell their produce directly to their market.
  2. Kelteve with Zimbarsity, an online database of research material for tertiary scholars.
  3. Twalumba with their eco-fenced bricks molded from coal ash.
  4. Golden Hearts with their cassava farming scheme.

Farm Hut went away with $ 10 000 USD while Kelteve came second pocketing $5 000 USD worth of Amazon Web Services.

Amazon Web Services offers many different tools and solutions for enterprises and software developers. These can be used in data centers in up to 190 countries. Groups such as government agencies, education institutions, non-profits and private organizations can use AWS services.

In a conversation with the Managing Director of Kelteve after the pitch, he said, “Zimbarsity is the way out for Zimbabweans to actually develop and implement academic work that can have a real-life implementation to grow our economy.”

“I would like to thank all our loyal customers and audience for supporting Kelteve and the newly found Zimbarsity, we hope to work with you all to turn your dreams into reality via our technology systems,” said the MD in his parting words.
